Coach | Organizational Communication Scholar | Former Intelligence Community Analyst

I spent decades helping leaders think more clearly and communicate more precisely, in classrooms, in the intelligence community, and in the highest levels of the US government. I wrote for four-star generals. I synthesized complex information for people who had no time for noise. I learned, over a long career, what it actually takes to help someone think straighter under pressure.

Now I do that as a coach.

My background is unusual for this field. I hold a PhD in organizational communication, with deep training in how people lead, decide, and relate under pressure. I spent almost 10 years in the Department of Defense developing analytical frameworks for the intelligence community, and another chapter supporting senior government executives through high-stakes decision moments. I've navigated that territory myself, more than once. That's not a footnote. It's part of why I do this work.

That combination is what I bring to coaching. Decades of studying and living leadership. A career built around service, in classrooms, in government, in the work of helping capable people think more clearly under pressure. Helping people navigate hard things is not something I do alongside my work. It is my work, and has been in one form or another my whole life.

I work with two kinds of people.

New supervisors who stepped into a leadership role and discovered it requires a completely different set of skills than the work that got them there. I help them build a leadership identity that is actually theirs, not a performance.

People navigating life transitions: retirement, sudden disability, an identity that no longer fits. People who are functioning and capable and also quietly unmoored. I help them find steadier footing and a direction worth committing to.

This is not motivational coaching. It is thinking partnership for people who take their lives seriously.

If that sounds like what you need, I would be glad to talk.
